Dr. Leeland Jones

Dr. Leeland A. Jones is a distinguished physician and psychiatrist with a career spanning several decades in both medical practice and mental health. His educational journey began at Hutch Tech High School, where he majored in Chemistry, followed by earning a Bachelor of Education from SUNY at Buffalo in 1969. He further pursued his passion for medicine, receiving his MD from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1973.

Dr. Jones completed a rotating medical internship at Meyer Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, NY, in 1974. He practiced as a Family and Emergency Room Physician in Robeson County, North Carolina, from 1974 to 1987 before transitioning to Psychiatry. From 1987 to 1990, he completed his psychiatry residency at SUNY at Buffalo, which paved the way for a long-standing private practice from 1990 to 2021. He also led the Medical-Psychiatry Unit at Buffalo General Hospital for five years.

An accomplished athlete, Dr. Jones was honored in the SUNY at Buffalo Athletic Hall of Fame alongside his father and received Honorable Mention as an All-American in Football in 1969. He led the nation in touchdowns in Division 1A football in 1968.

Dr. Jones is also an author, having penned "Becoming Whole, Being the Beloved," a comprehensive textbook on healing the whole person, addressing the interconnectedness of spirit, soul, and body. His work includes strategies for inner healing, deliverance, and spiritual warfare, aiming to empower individuals to maximize their calling and gifts.

As a seminar speaker, Dr. Jones has facilitated the Elijah Prayer Counseling Course at Bethesda from 1999 to 2006 and conducted webinars, seminars, and conferences focused on wholeness and healing for counselors, ministers, and pastors.
