Sclerotherapy

Real Health Medical specializes in sclerotherapy vein treatment for patients across Metro Atlanta. Sclerotherapy is a common procedure used to help with the appearance and discomfort that varicose and spider veins can cause. Sclerotherapy treatment is a minimally invasive, effective way to improve the look and feel of those veins.

Real Health Medical offers sclerotherapy treatment at our two convenient offices in Roswell and Stockbridge. We are proud to offer integrative and functional health solutions to our patients. When you schedule a consultation with our vascular experts, we will talk through your goals to determine if this is the best solution for you.

About the Sclerotherapy Process

The procedure itself is quick and anesthesia-free. The process works by injecting a solution directly into the patient’s vein. This will cause the veins to seal shut, or scar, which closes off the vein and stops the blood flow. That blood is then redirected into the healthier veins. After that, the treated vein will begin to fade, causing improvements in both the look and feel of the vein.

Sclerotherapy Recovery

Our patients are typically up and walking soon after the procedure, with many returning to regular activities the same day. In the recovery phase, compression socks are often recommended to help in the healing. Our team will discuss the process thoroughly with you beforehand.

How Long Does It Take to See Results?

After the procedure, patients typically see results in a matter of weeks. In some instances, it may take a few months to see the full results. Depending on the patient and the vein, multiple treatments may be necessary.

Symptoms of Varicose Veins

Varicose veins occur when the valves in the veins become weak or damaged. We most commonly see these types of veins in the legs, although they can appear in other places. Symptoms of varicose veins may include the following sensations:

  • Swelling
  • Heaviness
  • Aching
  • Burning Sensation
  • Cramping or Throbbing
